Did not see soccer on this web site… I’m thinking you’re not the ‘Beechmont’ of my area. We were looking for soccer and basketball, sorry, seems you only have one sport.
Thanks

Thank you For Your Comment… We are Beechmont Youth Sports. We offer Baseball in the Spring and Soccer in the fall. We have just completed our soccer season and now have transition the website back to baseball.
Thanks for the suggestion on putting the exact location. I will find a spot for that. We do have a “driving directions” page that gives you directions from any location.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions…
Thanks Again
Why is it all about the boys’ baseball teams EVERYWHERE? In high school and youth sports-the attention is focused on the boys. Girls’ softball is just as demanding and offers just as much exposure as they get older. I never could understand, in this era, why the focus is STILL so gender specific.
I would like to see a couple times in the latter part of the baseball season where the concession schedule is left open for makeups. I normally dont have a problem with the scheduled nights, ut this year is an exception…..Our teams scheduled night to work concessions is a night that our team has a game at another field. We also have a 2nd night scheduled, and I have a prior committment…..it would be nice to be able to work another night and not be charged $50 because of a schedule conflict!
One other note, I believe that the concession should be open until the last game of the night is done. There were several games being played on 6-2-09 that began at 8pm, and ours had a 1:45 time limit, the stand closed at approx 9pm…..good thing no-one got hurt and needed ice, or worse…some one get sick or something from the sun/seat…..Also, there were a couple games at Beechmont on Sunday and the stand didnt open at all…..the stand should be open anytime there is a game.
The concession stand is opened all times when games are scheduled. The operating hours are 5:30 - 10:00pm (or the end of the last game).
We spend several hours each season trying to ensure that you are not working during a game but sometimes we goof. If your game gets rescheduled due to a rainout, we really can rework the entire concession schedule. We leave it up to the coaches to work out a swap if they so desire.
Why the concession stand closed early on June 2 was that the team working the stand just left. The only two people remaining were the kids that were hired to fill in and they had finals the next day. This is an ongoing issue where parents are not showing up to work this rotation in the stand or leave early.
In the past we have always allowed flexibility with rotation in the stand. We know everyone is busy and has other things to do but at the same time the concession is the primary source of funding for the park activties. When parents don’t show up to work or show up at 6:00 it causes us to close the stand.
We will be making changes to the system next year. Instead of allowing parents to select which team night they work, we will be assigning dates and times for their rotation. It will be the responsibility of the worker to find someone 16 or over to cover that shift or the check will be cashed the next afternoon. This way there are no surprises to anyone. We have had several nights where the teams did not show at all.
If there is a time conflict, you can send someone 16 or over to cover your shift without penalty.
We really do appreciate your comments and trust me when I say “I want Beechmont to be a place where people want to play”.
just wanted to say, nice job on the website. My kids play with Prairie Village and we’re on a team that plays at Beechmont. I came to the site to see if I could find where rainouts might be announced and stumbled across this forum… NICE. Just wanted to encourage you to keep up the good work. Way to go!
